.: Welcome to the Hotel Gasthof zum Gockl :.

Der Gockl im Jahre 1957

Once upon a time ...

The "Gockl" belongs to the Rottenkolber Family since September 17, 1957.

Back then the "Gockl" was simply known as a great beer garden, a tour inn with butcher shop.

The popular local meeting point, however, was to be, so the idea of Emmi Rottenkolber and her late husband Benedikt, more than this.

In 1967, on the 10th anniversary, the Rottenkolber Family realized her plans: After having checked the basic fabric, the cellar-less house was torn down.

With the help of an architect of Löwenbräu Brauerei, the Gockl was awakened to new life in form of a total renewed house with restaurant and 45 beds. This was the very first beginning of the Gockl's hotel era!

Since then, the "Gockl" is an integral part of Unterföhring and well known far beyond the borders of Unterföhring. It is being appreciated by the restaurant guests as well as by the numerous business people, who enjoy the comfort of a hotel in such a central location near to Munich.

The guest book is worth seeing: Besides local celebrities, known in Germany, the Gockl could also welcome such international A-celebrities as Maria Callas.

Unfortunately Emmi Rottenkolber died in May 2008. Her son Wolfgang and his wife Evi took over the Gockl and continue her work successfully.

The Rottenkolber Family and its team thanks all its guests for your long-time loyalty and are looking forward to welcome you at the Gockl again!
